Sales Manager, U.S. and Canada
We are now looking to further develop our business in the US and Canada and are actively seeking to fill the position of Sales Manager, U.S. and Canada
As a key member of our Management Team, you will be directly responsible for strengthening our customer base in North America. Reporting directly to company headquarters in Finland, you will customize the sales strategy to suit local needs and maintain positive working relations with our current customers in the region. Additionally, you will be responsible for business development within our current market segment as well as its expansion into new segments.
Main job responsibilities:
All aspects of new business development including lead generation, visiting potential clients, negotiating and closing contracts
Account relationship management
Developing strategies for acquiring new business, perform analysis and planning
Representing company at trade shows and scientific congresses
Consulting with clients to understand underlying needs and identify key decision makers
Evaluating marketing efforts and work with marketing to develop marketing plans tailored to Northern American markets
Communicating feedback to the headquarters on a weekly basis
Providing input to the team in Europe regarding competitive offerings, product, channel and other related sales and development issues
Job requirements:
Degree in genetics, bioinformatics, or related field, or equivalent experience; advanced degree preferred
Minimum of three years experience in sales or business development or equivalent commercial experience
Successful track-record of consultative selling and management of complex sales with long sales cycles a plus.
Knowledge in genetics and/or bioinformatics and advanced understanding of related terms and ability to develop and maintain expert knowledge of specified markets
Experience or general knowledge of academic markets a plus
Experience or general knowledge of IT and database systems a plus
Strong presentation, communication and teamwork skills; experience in international communication a plus
Excellent customer and negotiation skills
Highly adaptable and independent
Flexible and willing to travel as business requires, periodically including longer visits (circa two weeks) to company headquarters in Finland
