BC Platforms to provide data management solution for a large European project investigating diabetic complicationsMay 12, 201018 European universities and research centers have unified their efforts to find genetic and other biological causes (biomarkers) to advance in the battle against complications caused by diabetic diseases. BC Platforms delivers the project database system, collaborates with the researchers, bioinformaticians and programmers in order to connect new scientific tools with it, and takes care of the data management tasks during the five-year project. The project funding, approximately 40 million dollars, is granted by the European Union and complemented by money from five European pharmaceutical companies. European and Canadian-based scientific projects join forces to address connections between genetics and diseasesMarch 29, 2010The international science consortia GEN2PHEN and the Public Population Project in Genomics (P3G) have signed an agreement to coordinate the genetic research efforts of 45 research institutions from 25 countries. European-based GEN2PHEN and Montreal-based P3G will be working together to streamline the collection and utilization of electronic data that holds the key to how gene sequences contribute to inter-individual differences in diseases, drug responses, and other characteristics. BC Platforms will contribute to the effort through the development of standard data models and terminologies and in the development of generic and standardized local database solutions; these solutions are specifically tailored to creating data outputs in standardized formats. BC|Enterprise Research Database Platform to optimize research data management at the Center for Molecular Medicine at Karolinska InstitutetDecember 14, 2009BC Platforms Ltd announces a multi-year partnership to enhance clinical and genetic research data management and analysis at the Center for Molecular Medicine at Karolinska Institutet (CMM). BC Platforms will implement their BC|Enterprise Research Database Platform in to the existing CMM IT infrastructure. The centrally installed platform will improve the management, secure storage, sharing and analysis of research data, further accelerating the collaboration among the research groups at CMM. CMM connects 400 employees from the largest university hospital and medical university in Sweden - Karolinska University Hospital and Karolinska Institutet. Aside from the BC|Enterprise Research Database Platform, this partnership provides both parties an excellent environment to collaborate, learn and further develop solutions for research data management and analysis. For more information, see the press release (PDF 52 kb) . Biocomputing Platforms to provide data management for the European-wide LUPA dog genetics projectSeptember 15, 2008The 16 million euro LUPA project is being conducted be a consortium of 20 research groups at European veterinary schools and universities. Researching canine genetics, the LUPA project's work will have applications for advancing the study of human disease genetics. The BC|SNPmax system will be used for the project data management and genetic analysis. For more information, see Biocomputing Platforms' press release (PDF 144 kb) . Biocomputing Platforms in GEN2PHEN - Major European Project to Create New Knowledgebase of Gene-Disease RelationshipsFebruary 5, 2008Biocomputing Platforms is taking part in the 12 Million Euro ´GEN2PHEN´ project, funded by the European Commission, aimed to harness the web to capture and unify genetic information that fundamentally impacts on a person's health and disease processes.
