BC|GENE and BC|SNP solutions have been designed to manage and analyze the large amount of SNP genotyping data produced by modern high-throughput instruments. Output files from these devices can be directly uploaded into the database. Converter functions for other data formats can be easily added to the platforms.

Additionally, researchers can gather and manage large public control datasets or imputed datasets in a compressed format, saving disk space and significantly improving performance.

BC|GENE and BC|SNP Suite solutions also offer a BC|FORMS tool for designing questionnaire forms for clinical data. Aside from gathering and managing clinical datasets, researchers can also design custom datasets for storing, for example, SNP quality information, analysis results and CNV data.

The comprehensive log files of BC|GENE and BC|SNP Suites cover all data entries and modifications as well as system access allowing the tracing of every variable's change history.

Individual access rights and profiles to different users improve data security and offer a degree of flexibility to the organization of the project. User access is safeguarded by both the BC|GENE and BC|SNP Suite solutions and by the high-security IBM® DB2® Universal Database relational database software.

Working together with the IT administration of the customer institution, we can also extend the system to provide secure remote access. This can be used for multi-center collection of clinical data, collaborative networks sharing a database and allowing members of a research team to work from home or other external locations.
