Does our organization keep control of the data?
Yes. Your organization keeps appropriate oversight and control throughout the process. Privacy, governance, and institutional requirements remain central, and depending on the use case, approved access and analysis can be enabled while data remain with the original custodian.
Who can access the data?
Only approved researchers can access data for approved research purposes. Access is governed by the appropriate privacy, compliance, and institutional requirements, so the process stays controlled and transparent.
How are data prepared for research?
BC Platforms manages the onboarding and technical setup needed to prepare data for approved research, in consultation with your team as our data partner. That can include data source review, ingestion, de-identification where needed, quality review, mapping, and harmonization.
How much revenue can a project generate?
In our experience, approved data projects typically generate €50,000 – €150,000 per project, depending on data volume, richness, and fit. Multiple projects in a given year are possible – your data can be used to support multiple projects, many of which can span several years and represent significant income potential.
How much work is required from our team?
Our goal is to do most of the heavy lifting for you. BC Platforms provides the technology, data expertise, stewardship, harmonization support, and operational guidance needed to make the process as low-burden as possible for your clinical, IT, and research teams. We’ll work with your team to understand your data sources, gather requirements, answer questions, and align on governance needs, but we do not expect you to build or manage the program on your own.
Do we need to build new infrastructure?
No. BC Platforms provides the technology, trusted research environment support, and operational guidance needed to help make data available for approved research without requiring your organization to build a new infrastructure internally.
