Sales Director, Healthcare, USA (East)

We are looking for a Sales Director, Healthcare to join our sales team in the Eastern region of the US.

Reporting to the Executive Vice President, Sales, this person will leverage their relationships and experience to drive software platform sales in the healthcare space. You will work alongside senior management and both internal and external partners to set our commercial strategy for the region. Your responsibilities revolve around developing new business and managing key accounts. Revenue generation and continued strong growth will be the focus of this position.   

We expect from you:

  • Manage, plan and drive the development of key healthcare accounts in the region
  • Build long term commercial plans for agreed upon key accounts
  • Maintain relationships with our external partners 
  • Sell to C-Suite, Physicians, Researchers, IT, Procurement
  • Research complex organizations and position our solutions to address customer pain points
  • Develop use cases for new prospective customers and drive tactical plan toward deal close
  • Become a trusted advisor through consultative selling techniques
  • Perform effective sales presentations
  • Negotiate pricing and contractual agreements
  • Work well on both small ($100k) and large (>$2m) deals
  • Ensure that our clients receive the highest level of sales and operational customer service
  • Work with our solution team to craft and deliver high-quality responses to RFPs
  • Prospect and develop key senior-level relationships within the sector
  • Continuously learn and develop relevant industry skills
  • Self motivated with strong organizational skills and high desire to succeed
  • Excellent account management and client-advocacy skills
  • Advanced strategic thinking, selling, negotiating, and project management skills
  • Ability to generate leads in a new market

Your qualifications:

Critical knowledge acquired through academic study, business qualification or on-the-job experience:

  • Successful track record of selling software solutions within the Healthcare market
  • Proven history of excellent account management and client-advocacy skills
  • Expert knowledge of sales planning, prospecting and business development
  • Advanced strategic thinking, selling, negotiating, and project management skills

Critical experience: the type and minimum length of relevant experience to effectively perform in the job:

  • Knowledge of genomics, bioinformatics or related
  • 7-10 years overall experience in sales and/or business development.

Critical leadership capabilities:

  • Excellent leadership qualities required
  • Disciplined, motivated and able to drive her/himself in daily sales tasks

Critical technical, professional and personal capabilities:

  • First-rate enterprise selling, negotiation and deal-closing skills
  • Experience in the healthcare market and existing contacts within hospital systems across the Eastern U.S. highly preferred.
  • Ability to work in a fast-moving often-changing environment
  • Experience with Google Suite (gmail, drive, slides) and Microsoft Suite (powerpoint, word, excel)
  • Experience with SalesForce.com or similar CRM tool
  • College Degree required
  • Desire to advance professionally into future leadership roles

Additional Information

This role requires travel up to 75 %, including internationally.
